The most common problems are knocking or slipping in extreme positions of the steering wheel, heavy rotation when turning, play or knocking in the steering column, and a number of errors when diagnosing electric steering racks.

The most common causes of malfunctions are malfunction of sensors due to moisture, wear of contacts of the electromechanical system, wear of bearings, broken fuses or damage associated with an accident.

Diagnostics and repair of electric steering racks

• First, a visual inspection is performed to determine the type of amplifier, the integrity of its housing, and the general condition of the external parts.
• Then computer diagnostics are done, checking for errors and reading them. For this purpose, special equipment and software are used.
• Next, disassembly is performed to access components that require repair or replacement. Covers, protective panels, sensors and other elements are removed.
• If water gets inside the steering rack, we dry and degrease the mechanisms: gearboxes, gears and other parts can be repaired or replaced if necessary.
• If the electric power steering malfunctions, our specialists check the electronic components: sensors, wires, relays, controllers. If a breakdown is detected, they are replaced or repaired.
• Once repairs have been completed and faulty parts have been replaced, the steering rack is reassembled in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's manufacturing specifications and recommendations.
